Costume Requirements

There is NO SEPARATE FEE for the dancers to wear the BYU Youth Dancesport Costumes
in the Winter Showcase and the competitions.  We provide most everything but listed below
are a ​few extra items that each dancer will need to provide.

Girl Requirements

  • Tan dance tights (Pre-Teens only)
  • Caramel/Toffee Fishnets (Jr./Yth only – no seam in the back)
  • Ballroom Dance Shoes (see team list)
  • Hair Products
  • Make-Up Supplies
  • Team Earrings (Youth Teardrop Pair - $15, Junior/PT Circle Gem Pair - $10, purchase custom made through Red Tango, to be used at Winter Showcase and for select Medleys.)
  • Any other team costume items needed specifically for your competitive Medleys (as specified by the team director)
  • Team Lip Stick: Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color Lip Color, 200 Eternal Cherry
    • REQUIRED for Junior/ Youth all performance and competitions. Optional for Pre-Teen. (approx. $10.00: Purchase at Target, Walmart, Amazon, Etc.)  
    • NOTE:  If you prefer Lip Sense instead, the color that matches our required team color is Blu-Red.

Boy Requirements

  • Pair of well-fitting Black Latin Pants (no pleats, but satin stripe is ok)
  • White long sleeve collared dress shirt (stretchy, Star Dance shirt is prefered)
  • Plain, long black tie (for Winter Showcase)
  • Long, plain black socks
  • Ballroom Dance Shoes (see team list)
  • Hair Products
  • Darker Bronzer/Foundation (comps only)
  • Cufflinks/Studs Set for Tailsuits (Youth-age only)
